This is the last of the vacation series, for reals!!! One of the main draws of our Island trip was to hang out with my cousins and we spent a lovely day giggling and reminiscing and swapping news about all of the family drama gossip stories. Even though I don’t have any siblings of my own, I am fortunate to be a part of a large extended family and so there is always something happening to keep things interesting! And… Read more »

An Island Vacation
It’s been 15 years since I’ve been on Vancouver Island and it was just as spectacular as I remember and then some. Back then I was a student on The Island and didn’t really take the time to do any of the touristy stuff since that was “home”. That changed last week because we really did pack with the whole see-as-much-as-you-can-see thing (and we might have even pushed it too far seeing I have a couple nasty blisters on my… Read more »
Day Trippin’
We drove inland through the Fraser Valley over the long weekend to Harrison Hot Springs. My idea of a good time isn’t sitting in boiling water that smells like rotten eggs. I know that it’s the sulphur in the water that imparts this stink and I read somewhere that the naturally bubbly hot water is good for you…. then again, I read somewhere else that that’s just a myth. I’m sticking to the myth interpretation! Our motivation behind this daytrip… Read more »
Roadside Sweetness
Yesterday evening, my boy picked these weeds blooms from the wayside for me. Now that’s just sweet! (Though, being his Mama I’m kinda biased!)
Rip and Reknit
Our guests have gone and I’ve pretty much caught up on all of the aftermath that follows when company leaves. I’ve still got an overflowing inbox though with several emails from all of my readers. I just wanted to say that I am not ignoring you lovely folk and I will respond to everyone soon:) Thanks for visiting my blog and being such a supportive bunch about my obssession hobby. I’m at the point on my Geodesic Cardigan where the… Read more »

The Christmas Sweater
Christmas has come and gone and we’re well into 2010 but here I am blogging about the only Christmas knitting I did. This sweater has been off the needles and used so much that I almost forgot that I hadn’t blogged about it. I finished Kiki’s Christmas sweater well before the holidays and I think that the blocking took longer than the knitting! It fits!!! The cuffs are a bit snug but not so tight that they threaten to cut… Read more »
The only Christmas knitting I did this year is the Drive-Thru cardigan for Kiki. The knitting is done and it’s been blocking for a couple days now but still feels damp. Time to move the blocking board up close to the heat. With all the Christmas frenzy that has befallen us again this year, I haven’t really wanted to cast on for a large(r) project (my Vine Yoke Cardi is still on the needles, but I wanted something new) and… Read more »
Inst. Grat.
Inst.Grat. That’s what I have written on top of my printed copy of Molly. Instant Gratification is a phrase that every knitter loves. This beret turned out to be exactly that. Cast on, knit, cast off, blocked, photographed all within a few days. That’s a big deal in my knitting world of slow. Best part is that Kiki loves it and allowed me to take pictures even though the temperature outside was hovering just above freezing. I think that’s the best compliment… Read more »
Two Today
Nope, it’s not my blogiversary. Kirtana turned two years old today and the exciting journey continues as we watch her grow each day in so many ways – mind and body and spirit. May this phase of the widely proclaimed “Terrible Two’s” pass mildly for us. All the same, with kids – the good will always outweigh the not so good. Happy Birthday, KiKi-Bee!
