Well, hello there!  Did you have a good summer?  I had a great summer and although I didn’t intend it, I took an extended break from blogging and crafting.  I wanted to catch up with my blog friends and even document my summer shenanigans here, but the past few months just whizzed by and here we are… September! September always feels like the New Year to me!  With the carefree days of summer behind us and the kids back in school, it’s time to turn… Read more »

It’s hard to switch gears from the pace of summer vacation to back-to-school mode, but such is life and it’s got to be done!  We had a splendid time visiting the Oregon coast and it was one of the most memorable holidays we’ve had so far. Of course, we took thousands of pictures but don’t worry, I’ll only share a few 😉 The Oregon coastline is one of the most spectacular driving routes in North America.  As we passed sandy beaches, majestic cliffs, gigantic windswept boulders and lighthouses, it… Read more »

This post brought to you via iPhoneography 🙂 The kids have been on spring break the past two weeks, so it’s been a wonderful time of relaxing and sleeping in 🙂 Monday, is back to school for one last term which is always the busiest one. This lull before the storm was nice! We went on a mini vacation over the weekend, back to the Okanagan Valley. The landscape was such a contrast to how we remember it from the… Read more »

We’re back home from our travels and are more or less or settled in.  With the start of a fresh new year; like most everyone; I’ve embraced the idea of a clean slate providing a launchpad for brand new ideas and a renewed focus. Over the next few days, I will share the projects I have finished but didn’t get a chance to blog about before 2013 drew to a close.  But today, some snapshots of our recent holiday to… Read more »

Hello lovely people! We’ve been back from our summer vacation in the Okanagan Valley for a few days now and things have eased back into the lazy, lovely summer-style schedule.  Perfect! Time away in the valley means many, many dips in the lake and awesome sunsets. Plenty of delicious samplings :: wine, artisan cheeses and breads.  Very yummy! And, fruit… oh, the fruit!! Also, we’re big fans of summer oatmeal.  Usually, we throw the refrigerated mush in the blender for a breakfast… Read more »

I love a spontaneous plan.  We made last minute reservations to take the ferry across to the Sunshine Coast and boy was it a spectacular few days!  It’s a good thing we reserved because this is what was in store for us and the thousands of other vacationers over on the other side… We did lots of hiking, kayaking, late night movie watching, board game playing and plenty of lazing around… every minute was perfect. Even the bald eagles were… Read more »

Remember I told you that during all of our travels this summer I visited only one yarn store?  It’s true! I just had to pop into Purl Soho while we were in New York 🙂  The staff are really friendly and welcoming. I did alright with my yarn diet and came away with only two skeins of Anzula For Better or Worsted in the “Juniper” colorway. No pattern in mind yet.  For now, I just like petting the squishy, luxurious yarn!

5 days of amazing! It’s hard not to constantly look upwards… …and spot something very interesting! A city with so much history and well-loved by all. In fond remembrance. The view from above is just as breathtaking This city is also about people.  Contrary to popular belief, New Yorkers are super friendly and helpful. And the food… oh my!!  We were too busy eating to pause for picture-taking.  It was too hot to drink soup in New York, we did… Read more »

I hope that everyone is having a fantastic summer so far.  It seems like I fell off the grid for a while and it’s only now that I’m connecting back to my usual routine.  So, where have I been and what have I been upto??? That’s right, vacationing! Our summer vacation this year was 3 weeks of fun along the Eastern US.  We visited family, saw lots of amazing places, ate some incredible food and even attended a family wedding…. Read more »

Hi!  Hiyadoin’? I’m doing great, thanks for asking 🙂 We were just away at The Emerald City visiting family and while we were there, look at what we stuffed our faces with! If you’re ever in Seattle, you gotta eat at The Crab Pot.  The mess is definitely worth it! You should also definitely check out this studio.  We were able to chat with the artist, David Smith, and watch him work on a very interesting piece of glass work.  As a… Read more »
