Happy New Year dear friends!  I hope your year is filled with plenty of joy, fun and creativity!! So 2017 is here and it’s time to focus.  While 2016 was a year of tremendous growth both personally and for my family, I sort of lost my way in documenting and sharing the joys, accomplishments and struggles.  While I try to savor the memories of good times and learn from experiences that were tough, I realize that keeping a record is a great… Read more »

Well, hello there!  Did you have a good summer?  I had a great summer and although I didn’t intend it, I took an extended break from blogging and crafting.  I wanted to catch up with my blog friends and even document my summer shenanigans here, but the past few months just whizzed by and here we are… September! September always feels like the New Year to me!  With the carefree days of summer behind us and the kids back in school, it’s time to turn… Read more »

Savoring the still and quiet after the humdrum of the holidays.  The magical winter scene outdoors is really conducive to my reflective mood. I looked back at my first post of 2015 curious to see if I had made any resolutions.  (Shows how much I paid attention to my list after putting it out there, eye roll!)  I didn’t make a typical list but I said that I wanted to be “focussed, intentional and organized”.  I think I did alright with those goals for the… Read more »

While I’ve been MIA on this blog, I’ve been buzzing about like a bee on steroids in real life! I’m sure things have been the same for you and you are nodding your head in agreement! As I pause and take a breath before closing out this tremendous year that we’re wrapping up, I’m amazed and so grateful for all the friendships and camaraderie the blogging community has brought me.  For this, I am truly blessed. In 2015, I went with guns blazing with… Read more »

After months of drought, it rained yesterday, finally!  So refreshing!!  We decided that a lunch of fish and chips was in order and where better than to taste fresh, west-coast fare than right at the heart of the fishing village of Steveston! Steveston might look familiar to those who’ve watched the show Once Upon A Time.  It’s the filming location of the fictitious town, Storybrooke.  I stopped watching the show half way through the first season, so I don’t know if… Read more »

My jar of hexagons overfloweth! Instead, this has become my current “hexie station”. I discovered a new way (new to me) to make hexagons… glue basting!  So quick and easy and effective. I bought the pre-cut paper 1″ hexagons from Paper Pieces LLC and I’ve been putting them to good use with my fabric scraps. I use the Sewline glue pen for basting.  Easy, no mess and the glue is blue, so I can see where (and how much) I’m… Read more »

It’s been a quiet couple weeks.  Vineet is out of town.  He’s in India actually for a family wedding and as you may have heard, Indian weddings are one long, loud, crazy, colorful party.  It’s very true!!  Prithvi is at Aviation Camp on Vancouver Island.  So, it’s just us girls at home.  At first, I was happy with all this quiet.  But then that got old really quickly.  I’ve cooked twice since the guys left and as much as cooking is my least favorite activity, I’ve actually… Read more »

Poor. Neglected. Blog!!! I hope everyone is having a great summer!  We’re in the middle of a heat wave which us west-coast-wimps don’t handle too well.  But you aren’t here to talk about the weather.  Moving on! I don’t know if you have heard about the “For Keeps” campaign founded by Amy Gibson, a talented quilt designer, author and all-round wonderful person.  While this movement focusses on sewing and quilting, I think that it applies to any creative process.  Being intentional and mindful of what we are… Read more »

Look! I’m knitting a sock!! Confession :: this post isn’t about knitting but a post without a picture is, you know, meh! I just finished a book and the words continue to linger with me.  Does this happen to you sometimes when you read something powerful, or watch a movie that’s especially moving? The Pearl That Broke It’s Shell by Nadia Hashimi is the book that I just finished and it was such a tender story with a powerful message. At first, I… Read more »

Happy New Year!!  May 2015 be your best year yet! It’s been a long while since I made resolutions with the onset of a new calendar year.  I think it’s because I follow through for maybe a month, two tops and then kaboom, I fall off the resolution wagon!  This year however, I posted this picture on my IG feed on New Years Day… Focussed. Intentional. Organized. #chroniclistmaker #erincondrenlifeplanner #ECLP #2015 A photo posted by Preeti Verghese (@preetiverghese) on Jan 1,… Read more »
