This is not an April Fool’s joke. I’m actually dusting the old blog off to write a post! What have I been up to? Well, everything and nothing. All the days smush into one big ball of busyness and yet, there is no singular, major event making said smushed ball. But such is life. Especially after the blur it has been over the past two years. But let’s not dwell on that because this is a season of newness. Spring… Read more »

Pause
The world is on pause as we navigate through the Covid-19 Pandemic. A push to protect ourselves, our loved ones and the most vulnerable in our communities. A coming together by staying apart. With the ever-changing situation the globe is in, I have been looking to the constants in nature to soothe and comfort. The air is cleaner, the birdsong is chirpier, the world is quieter. While the world is in lockdown, there have been reports of Orcas spotted in… Read more »
Words
With visual media taking the spotlight, are words becoming an antiquated form of expression? If this is an online journal for me to keep track of things that I want to remember, then I’d better write those things down! I was reading through some of my older blog posts a while ago. Wow, I loved blogging back in the day and sharing things I was making or places we were visiting as a family. I really did enjoy that. Sure,… Read more »
Just Plain Ordinary
Happy New Year, friend!! I hope this year be all that is good and fulfilling in whatever way that looks for you. Isn’t a brand new year always exciting? A new opportunity, a clean slate, a fresh start. I don’t do new year resolutions, but I always look for something to focus my year on. I use a word or a phrase and write it down in my bullet journal as a reminder. I began doing this a few years… Read more »
Summer Recap
It’s been a whole two weeks of back to school now and I’m loving the more predictable routine. More so since this has been an eventful summer for us. We traveled to India to visit family and friends. We were away for about 5 weeks and while the vacation was absolutely fun, it wasn’t without the post-holiday crash and burn that international travel entails. India was, as always, crazy and chaotic in a good way. Every day was enjoyable and… Read more »
The Slow Movement
Downshifting and practicing mindfulness has been the most liberating change I’ve made this year. Stepping away from tech regularly, embracing the great outdoors, making things from scratch, indulging in self care without guilt… I’ve made a conscious effort to build these things into my every day. Has it been easy? Nope! Has it been worth it? Absolutely, yes, yes and yes! The slow living philosophy has been around for ages. The fast pace of advancement in technology that’s often intrusive… Read more »
Inspired 2018
Happy new year, friends! Being inspired really challenges me to grow and develop. 2017 was definitely a year for me to step back and find balance. To assess what inspires me and weed out all the things that caused me overwhelm or stole away time from what mattered. Did I learn a lot! About myself and about how I react to or process things that influence me. While there is no magic formula, I’ve benefitted from goal setting and actually… Read more »
Snapshots
Fast forwarding through my camera roll seems to be the only way to play catchup! Because, October is here! As I flipped the calendar to a new month, I realized that so many events and life changes have taken place this year. Time to pause and reflect and document these memories. After all, the best thing about memories is making them. I’ve got some lovely, cozy things on my needles. I’ll post more… Read more »
Unexpected
One evening last week, I was waiting for my daughter to finish Girl Guides and like so many other waiting moms, I popped into the local coffee shop for a drink. I was happy that I’d remembered to grab my knitting before I left the house because knitting and Starbucks are the perfect duo. Deep in knit mode, I noticed the person sitting at the table next to me staring at my hands with curiosity. I knew a question about what I was doing would be forthcoming…. Read more »
Bright + Beautiful
Happy New Year dear friends! I hope your year is filled with plenty of joy, fun and creativity!! So 2017 is here and it’s time to focus. While 2016 was a year of tremendous growth both personally and for my family, I sort of lost my way in documenting and sharing the joys, accomplishments and struggles. While I try to savor the memories of good times and learn from experiences that were tough, I realize that keeping a record is a great… Read more »
