There is something so sweet about little baby things. I’ve got a keepsake box for each of my children filled with stuff from when they were little. A lock of hair, a tiny onesie, a baby blanket, a favorite outfit, a squeaky toy… As a mother, these are treasured possessions that I will always hold close to my heart. My friend recently became a mom for the first time. The arrival of her wee baby boy was celebrated with much anticipation and excitement. There… Read more »

Assembly Line
Zippered pouches are the best. I use a whole bunch whether it is to keep my knitting and sewing notions tidy, or to store my button collection, or even to keep my makeup organized. I’ve got a little one that I throw into my purse to hold items that usually get lost in the abyss. You know the “runaway” stuff that you have to fish out of the bottom of your purse, lip balm, mailbox keys, hand sanitizer, that sort of thing! I was… Read more »
The Princess And The Pea
I’m sure all of us remembers the story of The Princess and the Pea from when we were growing up. I have to confess that I sulk when it comes to sleeping on a lumpy mattress, hotel mattresses that are too soft can feel lumpy sometimes! Vineet always laughs and says that I’m being such a diva, I just chalk it up to old age 😉 On our recent mama-son expedition to Granville Island, I came across a lovely little fabric store called The… Read more »
Blogging Anyway
I’ve heard it said that when you don’t know what to blog about, blog anyway. So, here I am blogging anyway 🙂 I’m so thrilled with this kitchen adventure. I found a recipe in an old magazine for lemon curd cheesecake. Just reading the recipe made me drool and so I just had to make it. I went on the hunt for lemon curd and didn’t find any at the store. I did find Ina Garten’s recipe for homemade lemon… Read more »
The Leaves Edition
My cousin posted this picture on Facebook and I had to share 🙂 Source There’s a chill in the air, the days are getting shorter and pumpkin spice lattes are back! Time for nature’s catwalk to begin with trees resplendent in their autumnal gorgeousness. It’s not quite here yet, but soon it will be time to rake, rake, rake. Jump into pile of freshly raked leaves. Begin process again. Fall ❤ Leaves I noticed that my crafting is also leaf-centric. I’ve… Read more »
Summer’s End
Today is the first of school for the kids and I’m ready to embrace routine and schedules and even some “me time” 😉 This summer has been a mixed bag of sorts with many wonderful moments celebrating family and togetherness and on the other end of the spectrum holding the hand of a dear one who is hurting more than words can begin to describe. And so, life goes on and these sunny days with cool breezes will be replaced… Read more »
Surgery
… the crafting kind, that is! Scraped knees are a common thing with 5-year-olds. Miss. Kiki is always skinning her knees and as a result almost all of her jeans and leggings have holes in them near the knees. I mostly just ignore the holes until they start going right across the front. Moms, you know what I’m talking about, right? Right?? This particular pair of jeans are her favorite and so she was really teary and apologetic that they… Read more »
