Even though we have all the other preceding months warning us of December’s arrival, suddenly, it’s here and the crazy Christmas knitting marathon begins. On a whim I decided this year that I would indulge in some Christmas knitting. If I had this idea in um…July, it would have been great. It’s crunch time now and I’m still 6 Christmas knits short and I keep getting more “requests” everyday from family that they would “really, really, really love a handknit gift this… Read more »

The Accessories Edition
Instant gratification knitting has commenced thanks to the fast approaching holidays. Guaranteed to keep your noggin warm, this hat was a quick knit and was requested by my cousin. It fits my 3-year-old’s dome (!!) but that was before blocking. Once this hat is dry, the yarn will relax enough to fit my 23-year-old cousin just right (who has a very tiny head, whew!!) Well, that’s the plan anyway!! This was an easy pattern to knit and the mmmMalabrigo… need… Read more »
Rip and Reknit
Our guests have gone and I’ve pretty much caught up on all of the aftermath that follows when company leaves. I’ve still got an overflowing inbox though with several emails from all of my readers. I just wanted to say that I am not ignoring you lovely folk and I will respond to everyone soon:) Thanks for visiting my blog and being such a supportive bunch about my obssession hobby. I’m at the point on my Geodesic Cardigan where the… Read more »
Sweater Streak
Wondering why I’m suddenly into sweater knitting? This is the reason ….. International Sweater-a-Month Dodecathon 12 adult sweaters in a year is a huge feat for me but I think that this group is just the ticket to get me stashbusting. As far as progress goes, I’m not faring too well seeing that I’ve just completed 2 sweaters so far and we’re almost done with April. Yikes! But I ain’t quitting yet! Some brilliant knitters have completed their 8th and 9th sweaters for… Read more »
Molly for Sarah
The Molly beret is done and ready for gifting to Sarah. Molly for Sarah Pattern: Molly by Alana Dakos Yarn: Dream in Color Smooshy in “Happy Forest” Needles: Size US 2/2.75 mm and US 4/3.5 mm I knit the hat extra slouchy to accommodate the unfortunate hair incident and got Kirtana to model it for me. Kiki adores Sarah and will do anything for her include sitting still for pictures! Once again this pattern proved to be a quick, fun knit and even comes in… Read more »
A Perfect Day For Green
Spring is almost here according to the Weatherman and the calendar. Spring flowers have broken free a few weeks too early but no one will begrudge their overenthusiastic schedule since they make everything beautiful. I have little something on the needles today, perfect green knitting for St. Paddy’s Day. I’m knitting the Molly hat again for my dear friend’s daughter who turns 3 next week. She and her brother had a very unfortunate incident involving a pair of scissors and Dora. … Read more »
Inst. Grat.
Inst.Grat. That’s what I have written on top of my printed copy of Molly. Instant Gratification is a phrase that every knitter loves. This beret turned out to be exactly that. Cast on, knit, cast off, blocked, photographed all within a few days. That’s a big deal in my knitting world of slow. Best part is that Kiki loves it and allowed me to take pictures even though the temperature outside was hovering just above freezing. I think that’s the best compliment… Read more »
Green on my mind
Been thinking about going green for a while now. No, not the noble way of going green to make this world a better place but knitting from my green stash type of going green. I think that I’m too boring to be a tree-hugger. Although, I try to do my bit by recycling and being mindful of not being wasteful – now that’s a mouthful! Speaking of tree hugging, I once saw this group of tree huggers in Tofino getting… Read more »
Sock saga
That was a long blogging break. Who knew that a case of acute sinusitis could impede pretty much everything – even simple tasks like bending down to tie my shoelaces. But, I’m doing better now and thank you to everyone who sent me get-well-soon emails and comments:) Back on my needles is my TTL Mystery Socks🙂 It’s no longer a mystery since that KAL has long been completed. I’m determined to try and finish these socks and I have to report… Read more »
Skater Bunny
So, like I was saying, I’ve been on small project mode for a while now. For now, this seems to be the only way to see some knitting progress with my limited knitting time. It’s all good. I recently discovered the cuteness that are knitted toys and got the pattern for Barbara Prime’s Well Dressed Bunny. It’s amazing how quick the knitting went and it’s a good thing that I don’t mind mattress stitch seams because all the bits and pieces are knitted… Read more »
