It has been a quiet start to 2026, while I focus on intentional creativity. At the end of last year, I pulled out every single thing I had ever handmade, and I culled ruthlessly! It was a totally cathartic experience, and I am so happy that I took the time to do it. Many handknit garments and shawls that I hardly used anymore were donated to a local women’s shelter and these pieces have gone on to bring comfort to those in need.
I am left with just a shelf in my closet dedicated to handknits that I actually wear regularly, and the quest towards a thoughtfully curated wardrobe continues. I’m not sure I am the right candidate for a capsule wardrobe, but I think this year I will focus on making a few staple pieces. I might also try my hand at sewing something if I am courageous enough!
With this in mind, on my needles currently is the Paul Cardigan by Morecaknit. Wow, what an interesting pattern! I am enjoying every part of this garment construction and this cardigan will definitely be a wardrobe staple.
