“Is the spring coming?” he said. “What is it like?”…
“It is the sun shining on the rain and the rain falling on the sunshine…”
Frances Hodgson Burnett, The Secret Garden

Time to open the windows and let the spring air in.  Well, it’s still a tad bit nippy to do this for extended periods of time.  But it’s here :: spring!

Spring Arrives 2

Bright green shoots are everywhere. Buds are reaching towards the sun and I’m thinking of casting on for a new project, something small… socks maybe!!

Spring Arrives 1

At my sewing table, I’ve also got this little spring project going.  A ticker tape mini quilt/table topper/little thing.

Spring Thing 2

Initially when I began this project, I intended to use my pink and red scraps.  But when I laid everything out, the whole project had a certain Pepto-Bismol look!

I decided that it need some tweaks.  I added a bit of green

some birds on a wire.  Much better.

Spring Thing 3

All I’ve got to do is finish the binding and this cute little thing will be done.  Bring on spring!!

What a lovely blog! Love all of your photography and your knitting and quilting projects are beautiful. From the description of yourself it sounds like we have a lot in common. I look forward to visiting this lovely spot again. 🙂

This is really sweet. The green accents really complete it, but I’m a green fan to begin with, so maybe I could be a little biased too.

Spring has not quite sprung here yet – grettings from Germany!

Those are some great shots of the new growth! Spring will be a while here yet. Your ticker tape table topper is looking so pretty! That will brighten up your home! Nice work, Preeti!

It is so cheerful, fit for the oncoming spring. “Pepto-Bismol look” – got a chuckle.

I see 404 errors when I access your blog. Yesterday, I had to try for 4-5 minutes before it came online, so I could leave a comment. The same thing happened today. I see a note on yarn harlot’s blog about her blog having similar issues. Is this somehow related to you both being in Canada? As far as I know YH is not on wordpress, so it can’t be WP problem. Hmm. I don’t think there is anything you can about it, but thought of letting you know.

Pepto-Bismol–haha! I love the green and aqua you added; it looks great! What a fun scrappy project.

And lovely flowers! I’m surprised we haven’t had any tulips blooming; it’s been so unseasonably warm here. Hooray for spring!

First of all, I can’t believe flowers are blooming in your neck of the woods. I just can’t!!! But that scrappy quilt is just what spring orders, I can’t wait to see it done. I totally get you wanting to add other colours … I can so see the Pepto look minus the green you added. 😀
