Seen on our walk yesterday…

and this sweet girl

and this little guy

soon, all those leaves will fall

But look at that snow line!

Granted we don’t get much snow in Vancouver but this city is nestled alongside the Coast Mountain Range and those mountains get covered in white fluff every winter.  My hands are always the first to freeze when it gets cold outside (or with over-zealous air conditioning, or at the movies!)  But not today.  Today, they were TOASTY thanks to my new mittens!

Why is it always so impossible to photograph red???

Laurie’s Mittens (Ravelry project page)
Pattern: Laurie’s Mittens by Kirsten Kapur
Yarn: Malabrigo Worsted in “Ravelry Red″
Needles: Size US 8 / 5 mm

I used the same size needles throughout because I wanted these mittens to be snug but not too tight at the wrist.  They turned out perfect this way.  No more frozen fingers!!

I agree Red is so dang difficult to photograph! Beautiful mitts though! We lost all our leaves on the Ridge long ago, you know before we got The Snow…..

Beautiful shots of your walk. 🙂

As for red, you should always bring down the saturation on every red picture. It does wonders to help it be true red, not burn-your-eyes-out red!

Love those mittens! Did you get snow today? We had a bit, but mostly mixed with rain. I have a feeling you’ll be needing those mittens this winter.

The gorgeous red mittens are just perfect for this lovely walk, Preeti. My hands are the first to go cold, too. I should knit a pair or two for me and Sarah. We’ve had some fresh thin layer of snow tonight. Is is snowing where you live now. Thank you so much for leaving your messages on my blog. My wrists are getting better now. And please don’t tell my doctor, I’m still knitting…a lot ^_^. I just have to be very careful when carrying or picking up heavy things. Have a good night, dear friend.
