It’s been 15 years since I’ve been on Vancouver Island and it was just as spectacular as I remember and then some.  Back then I was a student on The Island and didn’t really take the time to do any of the touristy stuff since that was “home”.  That changed last week because we really did pack with the whole see-as-much-as-you-can-see thing (and we might have even pushed it too far seeing I have a couple nasty blisters on my… Read more »

** Warning: Picture heavy post Following a thread on Ravelry about silk yarn in Bangalore got me all curious seeing that this silk was available in my hometown!  My first stop on our summer vacation in India was Bangalore and so the lure of silk yarn seemed too hard to resist.  Armed with some hastily scribbled directions, we took a crazy autorickshaw ride in search of this luxurious yarn and boy was I amazed.  I was looking for a yarn store… Read more »

Monsoon clouds…they make me feel like singing.  We’re in Bangalore for a few days and enjoying every minute of it.  That’s not all…I found 100% silk yarn here…squeeeee!!!  More on that adventure later.

It’s the night before our summer vacation to visit family and friends in India and I’m still not done packing!!!! Before it used to be so easy to just dump stuff into suitcases and hop on the plane. Of course, we would get to wherever and discover that we didn’t have matching socks, or that I forgot to pack my cell phone charger or wall-plug-socket-converter-thingy! I knew it would be different this time and would require some serious planning and… Read more »

Hubby and I are leaving for Switzerland for two weeks. No cooking, no cleaning, no laundry…just mountains and waterfalls and lakes and green, green grass. Can’t wait to relax and soak it all in. Vacation knitting will include “Blossom” from MagKnits using some bright orange Phildar Licorne yarn for a fun knit:)
